What does HVAC stand for?
Should I close a door to conserve electricity?
No. Air conditioning systems are programmed to cool and or heat a certain number of square feet. When the doors are closed, it disrupts the flow of air and can cause the air conditioning to run inefficiently.
Should I use a programmable thermostat?
How do I troubleshoot my AC unit?
Here are some simple procedures you can perform before opting for the expense of a service call:
- Check disconnect switches (indoor and outdoor if you have a split system).
- Make sure that circuit breakers are ON and that fuses have not blown.
Check for sufficient airflow. - Make sure air filters are clean and that supply-air and return-air grilles are open and unobstructed.
- Check the settings on your thermostat. If you want cooling, make sure the temperature control selector is set below room temperature and the SYSTEM switch is on the COOL or AUTO position.
- If you want heat, make sure the temperature control selector is set above room temperature and the SYSTEM switch is at HEAT or AUTO.
- Make sure the FAN switch should be set at AUTO.

Im not going to write a 5 page essay on why you need to use this company. My elderly parents live with me and this company responds quick, is fairly priced, and is no nonsense. Robert is amazing and tells you the truth without fabricating other charges. You need your A/C fixed, dont waste your time with other companies. American Air Repair should be the only call you make.
